Coronavirus Information

At Captain French surgery we are proud to have remained open throughout the pandemic despite the exceptionally challenging times.  We had to implement some significant changes in order to keep all of our patients and staff safe.  We thank all of our patients for working with us and understanding the need to make these changes.

Fortunately we are now in a much better position both nationally and locally, especially due to the hugely successful rollout of the Covid vaccination scheme. We are therefore in a position to start the process of getting things back to normal.

We introduced more telephone appointments in March 2020 and some of these will remain as they have been popular for many people. However, we recognise that patients want to see their doctor in person as well.  We have always offered face-to-face appointments where it has been clinically necessary but we now hope to be able to offer more of these.

Unfortunately we are dealing with very high levels of demand and therefore our waiting times will initially be longer than we would like. We can assure you that we are doing everything to try and improve this.

We would ask that, where possible, you use a smartphone app to book appointments.  Alternatively you can call us.  The telephone lines can, at times, be very busy and following feedback from our patients we are implementing a new telephone queuing system later in the year which will hopefully improve this. Please be patient with our staff who work very hard to answer all of your calls.

Please continue to wear a face covering when attending the surgery and ensure that you are maintaining social distancing at all times.  If you have any Covid symptoms, do not attend the surgery and instead book a Covid test and contact us by telephone if needed.
